Our Year 5/6 Residential Diary - Rebecca, Tate and Rhyna

Day 1 - Rebecca

Today was my first day (well, OUR first day) in Ayutthaya. It was a great Day! When we arrived, we checked into the hotel (more like a guesthouse). I'm sleeping with Tate, Anhad and Miss Lily (who snores, apparently!). When we got to the Chao Saam Phraya museum, we walked around and answered some of Khun Pray's questions which involved drawing some of the ancient artefacts. Next, we boarded a long boat and stopped at two temples where people were dressed in ancient period clothing. In the evening we went to a night market and ate Tom Yun Gung and cheesy fries. I also had mango sticky rice which was delicious.

Day 2 - Tate

This morning I had toast and apple juice to start the day. We got on a song tao and went to a temple that Burma had attacked a long time ago and it was called Wat Phukhao Thong which we had to climb. Khun Pray told us to count the steps. I counted 81, but I'm not sure if it was right. The temple was gigantic! Afterwards, we went to see the reclining Buddha from the Sukothai period. We saw a solid gold Buddha which was surrounded by real rubies and emeralds! Then we went to the residential palace and saw three big chambers but we couldn't see the dead bodies. When we got back to the hotel we played a new card game called 'Cow Pat'  which was a lot of fun and that was the end of our day!

Day 3 - Rhyna

Today we woke up and had an amazing breakfast filled with fruit and toast. Afterwards, we got dressed and checked out of the hotel. Later, we arrived at Bang Pa Palace. When we went inside, we realised that the palace was enormous. We looked around and studied the mansions and the beautiful grounds. After that, we began the long drive home, it really was a great time!
